Screenity

Screenity began as a free open source Chrome extension for recording a tab and grew into a hosted editor around it, where a recording is built out of scenes you can re-record one at a time. Click zooms, captions and animated layouts are applied after the fact rather than performed live. It is made and hosted in Europe by one person, which is stated on the page and is the reason the feature list is narrow.

One paid plan at $10 a month, or $120 a year, after a seven-day trial. It covers recording any tab, app or camera, uploads of your own media, recordings up to an hour, multi-scene editing, unlimited 1080p exports, transcription and a reusable media library. There is no free plan on the pricing page, which is a change from the tool's history as a free open source extension. Nothing is metered per recording, so the only ceiling is the hour-long limit on any single one.

Somebody who records the same kind of explanation repeatedly and wants it to look composed without opening an editor. If you need a recording in a client's inbox within ninety seconds of finishing it, Loom still wins on that one axis.
