Typebot builds a form that behaves like a chat: one question at a time, branching on the answers, embedded in a page or sent as a link. The free plan runs two hundred conversations a month with no cap on how many bots exist. It is open source, so the whole thing can be self-hosted instead of subscribed to. Pricing counts chats rather than seats, which means a bot that gets popular costs more even if nobody else joins the team.
Free runs 200 chats a month across unlimited bots with webhooks and custom code already included, which is more than most free tiers in this category allow. Starter at $39 raises that to 2,000 chats, adds two seats, removes the branding and allows file collection, with extra chats at $10 per 500. Pro at $89 gives 10,000 chats, five seats, WhatsApp, custom domains and deeper analytics. Self-hosting costs nothing but your own server.
Somebody replacing a form that people abandon, where asking one question at a time measurably finishes more of them. It suits lead capture, onboarding and quizzes. Anybody who needs a support inbox with a human behind it is looking at the wrong tool, because this answers from a flow you wrote rather than routing to a person.
Estimate conversations rather than seats when choosing a tier, since a single bot on a busy page will pass 2,000 chats long before a second person needs an account. If you already run your own infrastructure, self-hosting removes the meter entirely and is the reason to prefer this over the closed alternatives.
