Trello is a wall of cards dragged between columns, which is enough structure to run an editorial calendar and not enough to put anybody off using it. The free plan covers ten collaborators, so a creator with two contractors never pays. Anything needing dependencies, a timeline or real reporting hits the ceiling inside a quarter.
Free covers up to ten collaborators in a workspace, which is more than most creator teams need. Standard is $6 a user a month, or $5 billed annually, and lifts the board and automation limits. Premium is $12.50 or $10 and adds calendar, timeline and dashboard views along with a simple data export. Enterprise is $17.50. A Premium trial is offered without a stated length.
Small teams whose work is a queue: idea, script, film, edit, published. Trello is the tool people keep updated, which beats a better one nobody opens. Dependencies, workload and timelines are where it runs out.
Stay free until a view you do not have is costing real time. Most creator workflows never leave that plan, and the ones that do usually want Notion rather than the next Trello tier.
