ClickUp tries to be the only work tool a team opens, and mostly manages it: tasks, documents, whiteboards, goals and dashboards all live together and cross-reference. The cost of that reach is a settings screen that takes a weekend to understand. Automations are metered per plan, which is what pushes a growing team off the free tier.
Free Forever covers unlimited tasks and members with limits on storage and advanced features. Unlimited is $7 per user per month billed yearly or $10 monthly, with unlimited storage, integrations and dashboards. Business is $12 yearly or $19 monthly and adds granular permissions, advanced automations and timesheets. Enterprise is quoted. AI is a separate $9 per user per month, and the pricing page compares its integration cost against paying for Slack, Notion and the rest separately.
Teams who want documents, tasks and dashboards in one place and are willing to spend a day configuring it. Anybody who wants to open a tool and understand it immediately should look at Trello or Todoist instead.
AI is a separate $9 per user a month, sitting on top of a $7 seat. That more than doubles the bill, and it is easy to miss when the comparison with Notion gets settled on the headline price.
