skool.com

Skool puts a forum, a course player and events behind one membership. The interface is deliberately plain, which keeps people posting, and there is very little customization by design. Both plans take a percentage of what members pay, which is the part of the pricing that has changed most since Skool launched.
Two plans with identical features and different economics. Hobby is $9 a month and takes 10 percent of what members pay you; Pro is $99 and takes 2.9 percent. Since nothing else separates them, the choice is one sum: Pro costs $90 more and saves 7.1 points of your revenue, so it wins above roughly $1,300 a month in member payments and loses below it. Payment processing is on top of both, and the page currently advertises two months free without explaining what earns it.
Anyone selling a paid community with a course attached who would rather ship this week than design anything. Somebody who needs the space to look like their own brand is on the wrong platform, since the absence of customization is the product rather than a gap in it.
Skool was worth recommending when it was one flat fee, and the two-tier pricing has made it a calculation instead. Run the $1,300 sum against your own numbers before picking a plan, and look at Circle instead if the community needs to look like yours.
