Pixlr is the cheapest way to stop paying Adobe for work that is mostly cropping, retouching and a background swap. It opens in a tab, handles layers, and the entry plan costs less than a coffee a month. AI generation is included but rationed, and the free tier carries ads.
Plus is $2.49 a month and removes ads, gives unlimited saves and 80 AI credits. Premium is $9.99 with 1,000 credits, all the image, video and audio models, and the full template and font library. Ultra sits above for heavy generation. Yearly billing saves 20 percent. Credits expire monthly rather than rolling over, and the free tier is ad-supported.
A creator whose photo work is cropping, cleanup and the occasional composite, and who resents an Adobe subscription for it. Professional retouching and colour work will outgrow it.
If you are paying Adobe for Photoshop and using perhaps a tenth of it, this is the honest downgrade. Photoroom is better at product shots specifically and Pixlr is better at everything else at this price.
