Animoto is the drag-and-drop end of video making: pick a template, drop in photos or clips, and it cuts them to a licensed track. Nobody is editing a documentary in it. It exists for the promo, the recap and the listing tour that would otherwise never get made, and the free plan stamps a watermark on whatever comes out.
Free gives 720p with an Animoto watermark, unlimited creation and the screen recorder. Basic is $9 a month billed annually, or $19 month to month, and removes the watermark at 1080p. Professional at $19 or $29 is where the brand kit, the Getty library, 4K, voiceover and the landing pages start, and it is the tier most people actually want. Professional Plus at $39 or $79 adds three seats. The gap between annual and monthly is more than half on some tiers, so paying monthly here is expensive by design.
Small businesses and creators who need a competent short video today, have no editor and no wish to become one. Anybody who already edits will hit the template walls within an hour and resent them.
Canva does much of this and a great deal more for similar money when video is one part of a wider design job. Animoto is the better answer when the output is video and only video, and speed is the whole point.
