Filmora

Filmora is Wondershare's video editor and the one a lot of creators land on after outgrowing a phone app and balking at a professional subscription. The timeline, keyframes, masking and motion tracking are all there, with an asset library and AI tools layered over the top. It runs on Mac and Windows and a free version exports with a watermark, so the editor can be judged properly before paying. Assets and AI credits are sold as separate add-ons.

There is a free version. Paid site plans are US$49.99, US$59.99 and US$99.99 a year, printed on the shop as US$4.17, US$5.00 and US$8.33 a month billed yearly, all set to renew automatically. AI credits are a separate US$9.99 a month and the Creative Assets library is US$99.99 a year, with a 14-day trial of that add-on which the page notes does not include the software. A perpetual licence is described in the FAQ alongside the yearly plans.

The step after a phone editor and before a professional subscription, for somebody who wants a real timeline without a monthly commitment that assumes it is their job. The free version is the honest way to find out whether the editor suits you. Anyone doing colour work or complex compositing will hit the ceiling here and should look at the free professional tools instead.
