Sonix will bill by the hour rather than by the month, which is the right shape for somebody who transcribes a batch of interviews twice a year and nothing in between. Accuracy across its 54 languages is good and the editor lines the text up against the audio. Subscribers get storage and an AI workspace that the hourly rate does not include.

Pay As You Go is $10 an hour with 5GB of storage and no monthly commitment. Core is $25 a month for 5 hours of transcription and translation plus 25GB. Advanced is $50 for 20 hours, and Pro is $80 for 40. Extra seats are $25 each. Annual billing gives a month free. The free trial is 30 minutes rather than a number of days, which is the honest way to price a trial of a metered service.

Anybody who transcribes in bursts, like an interview series or a research project, and would otherwise pay twelve months for two months of use. Somebody transcribing weekly is better off on a subscription elsewhere.
