Placid turns a template into an endpoint: build the layout once, then hand it a title and a photo and get back a finished image. Thumbnails, quote cards and social previews stop being a task and become part of publishing. It connects to the automation tools and to a site's own code, and credits rather than seats are what a plan buys. Anybody making one image a week does not need this.
Four tiers separated by monthly credits: Basic at $19 for 500, then $39 for 2,500, $89 for 25,000 and $249 for 100,000. Previews do not count against the allowance and unused credits carry forward, both of which make the nominal number go further than it reads. A free trial runs without a card and its length is not stated. Because pricing is by credit rather than by seat, adding people to the account changes nothing.
A publisher or team generating the same shape of image repeatedly, where the work is filling in a layout rather than designing one. Automated thumbnails and social cards for every post are the obvious case, and the crossover against doing it by hand arrives quickly. Anybody making a small number of images that each want their own design is better served by a normal design tool.
Estimate generations a month rather than comparing headline prices, because the jump from 500 to 2,500 credits costs $20 and the jump after that costs $50 for ten times as many. For a site publishing daily, the second tier is usually the one that fits.
