Running the business

Moxie holds the client list, the proposal, the contract, the time log and the invoice in one account, so a freelancer stops paying four tools that each know a quarter of the job. A scheduler and a light set of books are in there as well. Its own pricing page compares it to Bonsai, Dubsado and HoneyBook, which is a fair statement of who it is up against.
Starter is $12 a month and already covers clients, projects, invoicing, proposals, contracts, time tracking and scheduling. Pro at $25 adds the white-labelled client portal, a custom domain, workflow automations, a phone line and the public API. Teams at $40 covers five people. All three carry a 14-day trial, and the page is unusually direct about being able to pay monthly rather than locking into a year. It also lists location-based and need-based scholarships, which nothing else in this category offers.
A soloist who has outgrown a folder of documents and does not want five subscriptions in its place. Small agencies fit on Teams at five people. Anybody who only needs to invoice, with no proposals or contracts to send, is paying for most of a product they will never open.
Against Bonsai the split is that Moxie costs less at the entry tier and Bonsai has the deeper contract library. Pick Moxie if the client portal matters and Bonsai if the paperwork does.
