givebutter.com
Givebutter charges nothing for donation pages, events and its fundraising CRM, and funds itself from a tip donors can choose to add at checkout. Turning tips off swaps them for a platform fee, which is the honest version of free. The paid tier is a marketing add-on rather than the fundraising itself, and most organisations never need it.
The core product is free with a 0 percent platform fee when donor tips are enabled, and the page states a platform fee applies instead if they are turned off. Payment processing is separate. Plus is $29 a month or $348 billed annually and adds marketing and contact-based features, with a 30-day period to test it. The free CRM allows unlimited contacts, and contact-based pricing applies only to the paid tier.
Nonprofits, community groups and creators raising money for a cause who want to keep the fees off the total. A creator collecting tips for themselves is not the audience and should use Ko-fi or Buy Me a Coffee.
The 0 percent platform fee holds only while donor tips are switched on, and a fee applies if they are turned off. The cost moves from the organisation to the donor rather than disappearing, which is the trade to weigh against Donorbox.
