Ecwid adds a shop to a site that already exists rather than asking anybody to rebuild on a new platform, which is what makes it the answer when the site is fine and only the selling is missing. It will also stand on its own with an included site builder and a free subdomain. Plans are separated by product count first: ten on the cheapest, a hundred on the next. Selling through Instagram and Facebook, the mobile management app and automated tax all start one tier above the entry plan.

Starter is $5 a month billed annually for up to ten products, seventy templates, the default subdomain and email support. Venture at $29 lifts that to a hundred products plus digital goods and adds Instagram and Facebook selling, the mobile management app, live chat, the app market, automated tax, discount coupons, a custom checkout and analytics. Business is $49 and the top tier is $119. Nonprofits are offered six months of Venture free.

Somebody whose website is fine and whose selling is the missing piece, particularly on a platform where a full storefront cannot be installed. The $5 tier is a genuine option for a shop with under ten products. Anybody with a large catalogue, or who wants the shop to be the site, will be better served by a platform built that way round rather than by an embed.
