Deel

Deel is how a small team pays somebody in a country it has no legal presence in. Contractor agreements are localised, payments go out in the currency the person wants, and Deel will act as the employer of record when a contractor relationship is not the honest description of the work. The prices are per person per month and they climb steeply between products. Most creator businesses need the contractor tier and nothing above it.

Contractor management is $49 per contractor a month, which covers the localised agreement, invoicing and payment. Contractor of record is $325 per person a month and moves the classification risk onto Deel, which is the version to look at when a contractor works like an employee. Employer of record is $599 per employee a month and covers full legal employment across a stated 130 or more countries, while the US PEO route is $125 per employee. A separate hiring and screening product is $14 per worker a month. Every tier is priced publicly and then routes to a demo booking rather than to a checkout, so expect a conversation before an account.

A creator business whose editor is in one country, whose designer is in another, and which has started to worry whether calling all of them contractors is accurate. The contractor tier is the one most will need. Employer of record at $599 a person a month is for the case where somebody is genuinely an employee abroad, and a business that does not have that case is looking at a number designed for somebody else.
