dacast.com
Dacast is a broadcaster's video platform: live channels, a paywall, white-label playback and a bandwidth allowance measured in terabytes a year. Unused bandwidth rolls forward, which suits anybody whose schedule is a season rather than a week. It sells to events and businesses rather than to social creators, and the interface has never pretended otherwise.
Starter is $39 a month billed annually with 2.4TB of bandwidth a year and 500GB of storage. The next tier is $63 and Scale is $165 with 24TB a year. Transcoding allowance is twice storage on each plan. The trial is 14 days, unused bandwidth rolls over until used, and monthly plans paid month to month carry a three-month minimum.
Event producers, sports leagues and anybody selling access to a live broadcast. A creator streaming to an audience on Twitch or YouTube gets that for nothing and needs none of this.
The three-month minimum on monthly billing is the term to notice, because it makes a single event cost three payments. Buy this when you are selling access to the stream itself; for hosting recordings, SproutVideo or Vimeo is simpler and cheaper.
