Clip Studio Paint is drawing software written for people making comics, manga and animation rather than for general illustration. Panel layouts, speech balloons, screentones, 3D reference figures you can pose and a vector layer that lets a line be redrawn after the fact are all part of the base product. The pen engine is the other reason artists move to it. Licensing is unusual: a monthly plan, an annual plan and a perpetual licence all exist side by side, and the device you use decides which grades are open to you.
Subscriptions start from $0.99 a month and the grade, the device count and the payment frequency all change the figure, so the plan chooser is where the real price is settled. Perpetual licences are sold beside them: PRO on one device for twelve months is $26.99, and the outright licences run $63.00, $76.99 and $277.00 across the grades. A free trial is offered and its length is not stated on the purchase page.
Comic artists, manga creators and animators, and anybody who wants drawing software they can buy outright rather than rent.
