Running the business

Acast hosts the show and sells the ads against it, which is the combination a podcaster otherwise assembles from two companies. Putting a show into its marketplace lifts the episode cap on the free plan, so monetizing and hosting are the same decision. Ad revenue depends on being picked up by advertisers, and a small show may see nothing for a while.
Free covers one show and five episodes, with distribution, a basic site and ad monetization, and the episode cap lifts once the show is in Acast's advertising marketplace. Influencer is €14.99 a month for multiple shows, unlimited episodes and sponsorship tools. Ace is €29.99 and adds team management, priority support and the publishing API. Prices are in euros. A card is asked for at signup even on the free tier, which the page says will not be charged.
A podcaster who wants advertising handled rather than sold, and who is happy for the host to take that role. A show with sponsors it found itself may prefer a host that stays out of the way, like Transistor.
