Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Design once, generate the image every time
Placid turns a template into an endpoint: build the layout once, then hand it a title and a photo and get back a finished image. Thumbnails, quote cards and social previews stop being a task and become part of publishing. It connects to the automation tools and to a site's own code, and credits rather than seats are what a plan buys. Anybody making one image a week does not need this.
Our note
Estimate generations a month rather than comparing headline prices, because the jump from 500 to 2,500 credits costs $20 and the jump after that costs $50 for ten times as many. For a site publishing daily, the second tier is usually the one that fits.
Paint on an iPad for the price of one lunch
Procreate is the drawing app most illustrators on an iPad already own, and it is bought once rather than rented. The brush engine is the reason: it responds to pressure and tilt closely enough that people who trained on paper stop noticing the screen. Animation, perspective guides and a time-lapse recording of every session come with it, and that last one has quietly become how artists prove a piece is theirs. It runs on iPad only, and the company has said plainly that it will not add generative image tools.
Ratings are the average of reviews readers left. The facts are stated by each tool’s own listing and are not verified by CloutStack. How we make money.

Our note
If you draw on an iPad, this is the default and the price is not a trick. The one thing to check before buying is that it is iPad only, which catches people who expected a Mac version.
