Community, courses and memberships
Mighty Networks puts the community first and hangs courses, events and paid memberships off it, which is the opposite order from a course platform that added a forum later. Members get a branded app rather than another tab. The transaction fee on the entry plan is small but real, and it disappears as the plans get dearer.
Our note
Against Circle and Skool this is the one that ships an app under your own name, and it is priced accordingly. If the app is not the point, the other two do the community half for less.

Host and sell courses, with payments included
Teachable handles hosting, checkout, drip content and student progress, and it has done so for long enough to be predictable. Coaching sessions and digital downloads sell from the same account. The cheapest plan charges a percentage of every sale on top of its monthly fee, which is the one number to check before committing.
Our note
Do not stay on Starter out of thrift. The 7.5 percent overtakes the price difference quickly, and Teachable is one of the few platforms where the second cheapest plan is genuinely the cheapest.
