Running the business
Colossyan generates a photorealistic avatar presenter, free to start and $27 a month after, built for SCORM export and quizzes inside an LMS. Vyond generates 2D character animation instead, lip-synced from a script, starting at $699 a year with no monthly option and no free tier. The visual style is the real fork here: a realistic presenter on one side, an animated house style on the other.

Avatar video built for workplace training
Colossyan makes videos with synthetic presenters and aims squarely at the people who make training material: conversations between two avatars, quizzes inside the video, and SCORM files an LMS will accept. That last one is why a learning team picks it over a general avatar tool. For a creator outside corporate training it is the same product with features nobody will use.
Our note
SCORM is the whole reason to choose this over HeyGen or Synthesia. If your videos end up on YouTube rather than in an LMS, those two are better at the part you care about and this one charges you for the part you do not.

Animated explainers without an animator
Vyond builds character animation from a script, with lip sync and gestures handled for you, which is why it ended up as the default for training video. A creator selling a course gets a house style without hiring anybody. It is priced for companies, and the cheapest seat costs more per year than most video tools cost in three.
Pick Colossyan if you want a realistic presenter and the flexibility to start free and pay monthly. Starter is $27 a month with no annual commitment required, and SCORM export plus in-video quizzes are built specifically for a course platform to accept.
Pick Vyond if an animated house style suits the course better than a realistic face, and you are ready to commit annually. Starter is $699 a year, about $58 a month, but there is no monthly plan and no free tier, so the first payment is the full $699 before you have made a single video.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
