Plottr is for the part before the writing: scenes on a timeline, characters and places as cards, and templates built from the story structures people actually teach. It does not want to be your word processor and exports to the tools that are. Buying it once is an option, which is unusual in this corner now.
The base tier is $9.99 a month, $60 a year, or $150 once. Pro is $99 a year or $599 once. Pro with the community is $129 a year or $649 once. The struck-through prices on the page suggest a sale is running most of the time, so the lifetime figures are the ones worth watching. Every tier covers unlimited household devices on Windows and Mac, and there is no free plan.
Writers who plan in detail and draft somewhere else, which is exactly how Plottr expects to be used. If you want one application for planning and writing, this is half of what you need.
Buy the lifetime licence if you write more than one book, because the yearly price pays for it in under three years and the software is finished enough not to need reinventing. Pair it with Dabble or a plain word processor for the drafting.
