Novlr is a distraction-free place to write a book, with goals, streaks and version history around the page rather than on top of it. The free plan is a working writing tool rather than a locked demo. Paying adds the proofreader and the longer history, and it is billed yearly.
Free is free for everyone and is a working writing environment. Starter is $8 a month billed yearly and adds unlimited projects with 30 days of version history, plus the goal and streak tracking. Pro is $16 a month billed yearly and adds unlimited version history and the proofreader. Both paid tiers were quoted on yearly billing, so a month-to-month figure is not published in the same place.
Writers who want to get going today without deciding anything, because the free plan asks for nothing and does the job. Anybody who plans heavily will want the structure tools that live in Plottr or Dabble.
Start on the free plan and only pay when version history or the proofreader becomes the thing you miss. At $8 a month the Starter tier is the cheapest serious writing subscription in the catalog.
