Liberapay

Liberapay is a non-profit that collects recurring donations and keeps none of them, funding itself from donations to its own page. Money moves weekly rather than monthly, and a donor pays several weeks ahead so the processing fee is charged once. There are no tiers, no rewards and no shop, which is the point for people who wanted a way to be paid rather than a platform to run.

Liberapay takes nothing. The only cost is the payment processor's, which the FAQ puts at an average of 3 percent through Stripe and 5.1 percent through PayPal over the past year. Donations run from $0.01 a week to a maximum of $100.00 a week from any one patron, and donors are asked to pay several weeks ahead so that fee is charged once.

Open source maintainers, writers and anybody who wants recurring support without running tiers, rewards or a shop. A creator whose audience expects perks and posts behind a paywall wants Patreon or Ko-fi instead.
