keepertax.com

Keeper connects to the accounts a freelancer actually spends from and proposes deductions transaction by transaction, then files the return at the end of it. A tax professional reviews and signs what gets sent. The pricing is per filing rather than per month, so it is bought once a year and the deduction hunting is what you are paying for in between.
Standard is $199 and covers federal e-filing, up to two state returns, itemised business deductions and a review by a tax professional. Premium is $399 and adds multi-state returns, property and K-1 income, prior-year filing, amendments, corporate returns and audit protection. Both are per filing rather than per month. The deduction scanning runs from the app in between, which is what the price is really buying.
US freelancers and creators filing a Schedule C who would rather pay once a year than keep books all year. It is priced per filing, so somebody with a straightforward W-2 return is overpaying for what they need.
Priced per filing rather than per month, which is the whole comparison against Wave or FreeAgent. Two hundred dollars once a year suits anybody whose Schedule C is the only return they file. It is poor value for somebody who also needs the books kept in between, and that is a different purchase.
