Cleanvoice takes a finished recording and strips out the parts nobody wants to hear: filler words, mouth sounds, breaths and dead air. It handles video podcasts as well as audio and hands back a timeline export you can drop into whatever you edit in. Billing counts hours of audio processed rather than seats, so an occasional show is cheap to run. Credits bought outright stay valid for two years.
Two ways to buy, and the subscription is the cheaper one per hour. Pay as you go is $11 for five hours, $20 for ten and $45 for thirty, with credits valid for two years. The monthly subscription is $11 for ten hours, $30 for thirty and $90 for a hundred, and unused credits roll over up to three times the plan limit. Every plan carries every feature. The free trial states that no card is required, without saying how long it lasts, and prices are listed before VAT.
Podcasters and interviewers who record more hours than they want to edit, and anybody publishing conversation rather than script. A show that is already tightly scripted and cleanly recorded will get less out of it.
Buying by the hour rather than by the seat is the right shape for a fortnightly show, and it is why this beats a general editor's subscription for that use. Descript is the better buy if you want to edit the words as well as clean them.
