Running the business
Teachable's cheapest plan, Starter, is $39 a month plus 7.5 percent of every sale, a fee that overtakes the price gap to Builder, $89 a month with no percentage, once monthly sales pass about $700. Teachery charges one flat $49 a month, or $470 a year, for unlimited courses with no transaction fee at all, ever. Once course sales pass roughly $133 a month, Teachery already beats Teachable's Starter plan on total cost, and it always beats Builder's $89 flat rate. The number to run is your own monthly sales, not the sticker price.

Host and sell courses, with payments included
Teachable handles hosting, checkout, drip content and student progress, and it has done so for long enough to be predictable. Coaching sessions and digital downloads sell from the same account. The cheapest plan charges a percentage of every sale on top of its monthly fee, which is the one number to check before committing.
Our note
Do not stay on Starter out of thrift. The 7.5 percent overtakes the price difference quickly, and Teachable is one of the few platforms where the second cheapest plan is genuinely the cheapest.

Unlimited courses on one flat price
Teachery charges the same whether you sell one course or forty, and takes nothing per sale, which is the opposite arrangement to most of this category. It is deliberately small: course pages, a checkout and email hooks, without a community, a funnel builder or an app. Two people have run it for over a decade. That is either the reassurance or the warning, depending on what you need from a vendor.
Choose Teachable if a decade of predictable, full-featured course hosting matters and sales are either very small or genuinely large: coaching sessions, drip content and student progress tracking are all included, and it has worked the same way for years. Do not stay on Starter out of thrift once sales are real, since the 7.5 percent fee overtakes the $50 gap to Builder past about $700 a month, making the pricier plan the actually cheaper one.
Choose Teachery if several courses already exist and a percentage-based platform is taking a real cut: $49 a month, or $470 a year, covers unlimited courses with nothing taken per sale, so one course selling $10,000 already makes the flat fee cheaper than any five percent arrangement. What is missing is everything around the course itself, a community, a funnel builder, an app, so bring your own email platform and expect to build the rest yourself.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Our note
Compare this against what a percentage-based platform takes from you now: at $470 a year, one course selling $10,000 makes the flat fee cheaper than any five percent arrangement. What you give up is everything around the course, so buy it knowing you will bring your own email platform and community.
