Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Courses, downloads and email in one place
Podia sells courses, digital downloads, coaching and memberships from one storefront, with an email tool attached so the list and the products live together. Nothing in it is the best version of itself, and that is the trade being offered: one subscription instead of four. The entry plan charges 5 percent of sales, which the two plans above it drop.
Our note
The 5 percent on the entry plan is the number to run first. Past about $850 of monthly sales the fee costs more than the $42 jump to Shaker, and that jump also removes the email subscriber cap.
Unlimited courses on one flat price
Teachery charges the same whether you sell one course or forty, and takes nothing per sale, which is the opposite arrangement to most of this category. It is deliberately small: course pages, a checkout and email hooks, without a community, a funnel builder or an app. Two people have run it for over a decade. That is either the reassurance or the warning, depending on what you need from a vendor.
Our note
Compare this against what a percentage-based platform takes from you now: at $470 a year, one course selling $10,000 makes the flat fee cheaper than any five percent arrangement. What you give up is everything around the course, so buy it knowing you will bring your own email platform and community.
