Running the business
Placid turns a template into an automated endpoint, filling in a title and a photo without a person opening an editor, with no free plan, from $19 a month for 500 credits. Venngage is a manual infographic and report tool with an accessibility checker built in, rare in this category, free for five designs shared publicly only, then $19 a month, or $10 billed annually, for unlimited designs and private sharing. Venngage suits a person or team designing individual documents by hand; Placid suits a workflow that needs the same shape of image generated automatically, over and over, without anybody sitting down to make it.

Design once, generate the image every time
Placid turns a template into an endpoint: build the layout once, then hand it a title and a photo and get back a finished image. Thumbnails, quote cards and social previews stop being a task and become part of publishing. It connects to the automation tools and to a site's own code, and credits rather than seats are what a plan buys. Anybody making one image a week does not need this.
Our note
Estimate generations a month rather than comparing headline prices, because the jump from 500 to 2,500 credits costs $20 and the jump after that costs $50 for ten times as many. For a site publishing daily, the second tier is usually the one that fits.
Infographics without hiring a designer
Venngage is a template library for infographics, one-pagers and reports, with an editor simple enough that the person who has the information can make the graphic. Accessibility checking is built in, which almost nothing else in this category does. The free plan caps you at five designs and shares them publicly, so it is a trial with a different name.
Pick Placid if the goal is automating image generation entirely, thumbnails or social cards produced for every post without manual work. Basic is $19 a month for 500 credits, with unused credits carrying forward, though anybody making a small number of individually designed images is better served by a normal tool like Venngage instead.
Pick Venngage for infographics and reports a person actually designs: the accessibility checker is a real differentiator if anything you make gets published, and Premium is $19 a month, or $10 billed annually, once the free plan's public-only sharing and five-design cap become limiting.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Our note
Venngage is the cheaper way into data-carrying graphics, and the accessibility checker is a real differentiator if anything you make gets published. Visme is the fuller tool once the documents get long.
