Landbot's free plan gives 100 chats a month, then $45 for 500 on Starter, with AI chats metered at an extra ten cents each and WhatsApp priced separately again. Typebot's free plan gives 200 chats a month, double Landbot's, then $39 for 2,000 on its Starter plan, and the whole application can be self-hosted to remove the meter entirely since it is open source. The axis is job as much as price: Landbot is a general chatbot for web, Messenger and WhatsApp with human takeover, and Typebot is built specifically as a conversational form for lead capture, not for routing to a support person.

Chatbots you build by dragging blocks
Landbot is a visual builder for conversations, on a website widget, in Messenger or over WhatsApp, and the flow is a canvas rather than a script anybody has to write. Conditional logic, A/B tests and custom code blocks are there once the simple version stops being enough. Chats are metered per plan, so a bot that gets popular is a bot that needs the next tier.
Our note
AI chats are metered at ten cents each on top of the plan, and WhatsApp is priced per message beyond that. The $45 is a floor, so estimate volume before setting this against Manychat or Chatfuel.

Conversational forms, open source
Typebot builds a form that behaves like a chat: one question at a time, branching on the answers, embedded in a page or sent as a link. The free plan runs two hundred conversations a month with no cap on how many bots exist. It is open source, so the whole thing can be self-hosted instead of subscribed to. Pricing counts chats rather than seats, which means a bot that gets popular costs more even if nobody else joins the team.
Choose Landbot if the bot needs to run across a website widget, Messenger and WhatsApp with a human able to take over the conversation, since that human takeover is included even on the free plan. Budget carefully: AI chats add ten cents each on top of the plan, and WhatsApp is billed per message separately again.
Choose Typebot if the job is replacing a form people abandon, lead capture, onboarding or a quiz, where asking one question at a time measurably finishes more of them. It is cheaper per chat than Landbot at every comparable tier, and self-hosting removes the chat meter entirely for anybody already running their own infrastructure.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Our note
Estimate conversations rather than seats when choosing a tier, since a single bot on a busy page will pass 2,000 chats long before a second person needs an account. If you already run your own infrastructure, self-hosting removes the meter entirely and is the reason to prefer this over the closed alternatives.
