Making the work
Growing an audience
Running the business
Honeycommb prices a branded community by how many members have registered, from $24.99 a month for the first hundred, with every feature included at that price and a 5 percent transaction fee on paid subscriptions. Mighty Networks starts dearer at $79 a month but bundles courses and events in from the start, at a lower 2 percent transaction fee that falls as plans rise. The real gap is mobile apps: Honeycommb charges $299 a month plus a $1,499 launch fee for one, while Mighty Networks folds a branded app into its quoted Mighty Pro tier instead of pricing it as a separate line item.

A branded social network for one community
Honeycommb builds a private social network under your name rather than a forum, with a feed, profiles and posts that behave the way members already expect. Pricing is by how many people have registered, not by which features you want, so the whole product is on the cheapest tier. Branded iOS and Android apps are a separate add-on with its own launch fee, and that is the line item most budgets trip over.
Our note
Read the add-on column before the plan column, because the apps cost more than ten times the entry subscription and they are the reason most people arrive here. Without them this is Circle at several times the price.
Community, courses and memberships
Mighty Networks puts the community first and hangs courses, events and paid memberships off it, which is the opposite order from a course platform that added a forum later. Members get a branded app rather than another tab. The transaction fee on the entry plan is small but real, and it disappears as the plans get dearer.
Choose Honeycommb if a branded feed and profiles under your own name is the whole job, and $24.99 a month for the first hundred members, with every feature active immediately, fits the budget. Read the add-on column before committing: a dedicated app costs more than ten times the entry subscription, and without it this is a plainer, cheaper version of Circle.
Choose Mighty Networks if courses, events and a paid membership need to hang off the community from day one, since Launch at $79 a month already includes all three at a 2 percent transaction fee. Its branded app comes bundled into the quoted Mighty Pro tier rather than sold separately, which is the cleaner path if a dedicated app is the actual goal.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Our note
Against Circle and Skool this is the one that ships an app under your own name, and it is priced accordingly. If the app is not the point, the other two do the community half for less.
