Running the business
Fourthwall is a complete shop: merch, memberships and digital downloads on one checkout, free forever for physical products, with Pro at $15 a month removing the 5 percent digital fee. Printify is a broker with no storefront of its own: the same shirt is quoted by ninety-plus suppliers at different prices, free for five stores before Premium at $39 a month, or $24.99 billed yearly, for up to 33 percent off. Fourthwall sells the shop; Printify sells the choice of who prints it for a store you already run.

A shop, memberships and merch on one page
Fourthwall is built for creators rather than adapted for them, and it shows in what is free: designing and selling print on demand products costs nothing, with the margin taken in the product price. Memberships and digital downloads run from the same shop. The free tier charges 5 percent on digital products, which the paid tier removes.
Our note
This is the closest thing to a default for a creator selling physical merch, mostly because the free tier is genuinely free rather than a trial with a fee attached. Pro pays for itself the moment digital sales pass about $300 a month.

Print on demand across ninety print shops
Printify is a broker rather than a printer: the same shirt is offered by several suppliers at different prices and print quality, and picking between them is the work. That is the argument over Printful, which prints everything itself and charges accordingly. Ordering samples before a launch is not optional here.
Pick Fourthwall if there is no storefront yet and merch should sit next to memberships and digital downloads under one brand. The free plan handles design, selling and shipping with no platform fee, and Fourthwall answers customer emails about orders directly.
Choose Printify if a store already exists elsewhere and the point is squeezing out the lowest base cost across many suppliers. Free covers five stores and unlimited designs, but its own brief insists on ordering samples before a launch, since two suppliers printing the same shirt do not print it the same.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Our note
The provider choice is the whole product and also the risk: two suppliers printing the same shirt do not print it the same. Order samples from the one you pick before a launch, not after the first complaint.
