Ecamm Live is a Mac-only subscription, $16 a month billed as $192 a year, forever. Wirecast is a one-time licence for Mac and Windows, $495 for Studio, with no subscription and no further payment after that. Buying Wirecast Studio outright costs about the same as two and a half years of Ecamm Live Standard, and after that it keeps costing nothing while Ecamm Live keeps billing. Wirecast is also the one that runs on Windows as well as Mac, which Ecamm Live cannot do at all.

Live streaming and recording, Mac only
Ecamm Live is what a Mac-based show runs on when OBS is more configuration than the host wants: scenes, guests, overlays, camera control and a recording of it all, in a window that behaves like a Mac app. Multi-camera and interview layouts are the reasons podcasters pick it. It exists only for macOS, which settles the decision either way.

Wirecast has been Telestream's live production software for long enough that the broadcast world treats it as furniture: unlimited inputs, scoreboards, instant replay, and streaming to several destinations at once. It is sold as a licence rather than a subscription, in two tiers where the dearer one adds replay and higher-end output. Against free software like OBS the case is support, stability and the features a paid crew expects to find.
Our note
The honest comparison is OBS Studio, which is free and does most of this. Pay for Wirecast when somebody needs to call support during a live event, or when replay and scoreboards are part of the job.
Ecamm Live is the pick for a Mac-based host who wants a lower cost to start and does not mind an ongoing subscription. Standard is $16 a month billed as $192 a year, with a 14-day trial that needs no card, and the interview layouts and camera control are built for a single-machine show.
Wirecast is the pick for a production crew that wants a licence on the books rather than a recurring bill, and it runs on Windows as well as Mac, unlike Ecamm Live. Studio is $495 once; against Ecamm Live's $192 a year, it pays for itself in about two and a half years and then costs nothing further, though a solo creator streaming from one camera is paying for scoreboards and replay features they will likely never use.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
