Both cover website builders. Here is what separates them on price, billing, what you can take with you, and coverage.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
A site generated from a sentence about the business
Durable generates a working site from a short description of the business, which is aimed squarely at a tradesperson or solo operator who needs a presence today and will not be maintaining one. An invoicing tool and a CRM sit beside the builder. The free tier publishes on a subdomain with monthly caps on generated images and AI chat. Anybody with a design in mind will be fighting a generator rather than using a builder.
Our note
Buy this for speed rather than for the site, because the honest comparison is against having no web presence at all rather than against Squarespace. If you will still be running the business in a year, budget for moving to a real builder once the first version has paid for itself.
A site you can build without touching a template file
Wix is the drag-and-drop site builder most people try first, and for a creator who needs a home page, a booking form and a shop rather than a design system, that is usually the right instinct. Hosting, a custom domain for the first year and the AI build tools come with every paid plan. The trade is the one every hosted builder makes: the site is easy to change and hard to take with you, so the plan you pick is a longer commitment than it looks.
Ratings are the average of reviews readers left. The facts are stated by each tool’s own listing and are not verified by CloutStack. How we make money.

Our note
Choose the plan on the ecommerce and storage limits rather than the headline, since those are what force an upgrade later. If you already know you will want to control the markup, start on a builder that lets you export.
