Design Wizard edits both images and short video from templates, with the video half, your own footage uploads and MP4 export, arriving on Pro at $9.99 a month or $89 a year. Pixelcut is built for a phone: background removal, upscaling and text-behind-subject for a thumbnail made between filming and uploading, and its free plan is rare in exporting without a watermark. Pro is $10 a month, with a yearly plan saving 20 percent. The two land at nearly the same price. The difference is desktop templates against a phone-first AI toolkit.

Thumbnails and video from one cheap plan
Design Wizard edits both images and short videos from templates, which is unusual at ten dollars a month and useful for anybody whose thumbnail and channel trailer want the same treatment. Text, shapes and logos can be laid over video rather than only over stills. The free tier resizes and edits without uploads of your own. Stock media allowances are what separate the paid plans, so somebody bringing their own footage gets less from the upgrade than somebody who is not.
Our note
The free tier is worth taking seriously for stills, and the $9.99 step is really the price of the video features rather than a general upgrade. If your thumbnails are the whole job, test whether Basic covers them before subscribing at all.

Thumbnails and product shots from a phone
Pixelcut does background removal, upscaling and text-behind-subject on a phone, which covers a thumbnail between filming and uploading. The free tier exports without a watermark, which is unusual and is most of the reason to try it. Anybody working on a desktop with a real editor open will outgrow it.
Buy Design Wizard if the job includes short promotional video as well as thumbnails, and you want templates rather than a from-scratch edit. Basic is free for stills; Pro at $9.99 a month adds your own footage, overlays on video and MP4 downloads. It has no equivalent to Pixelcut's phone-based AI editing.
Buy Pixelcut if the work happens on a phone between filming and uploading a video. Background removal and upscaling are free, with no watermark on the export, which is unusual for a free plan. Pro is $10 a month and adds batch editing across a set of images, useful for a catalogue or a run of thumbnails at once. It has no video-editing feature; Design Wizard is the one to buy for that.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
