Colossyan and Synthesia both generate a script-to-video presenter, and Colossyan's own listing draws the line directly: pick Colossyan when the file needs SCORM export and quizzes for an LMS, pick Synthesia for video that just needs to be good and does not need to live inside a course platform. Both start free; Colossyan's Starter is $27 a month after, Synthesia's is $19, or $14 billed yearly.

Avatar video built for workplace training
Colossyan makes videos with synthetic presenters and aims squarely at the people who make training material: conversations between two avatars, quizzes inside the video, and SCORM files an LMS will accept. That last one is why a learning team picks it over a general avatar tool. For a creator outside corporate training it is the same product with features nobody will use.
Our note
SCORM is the whole reason to choose this over HeyGen or Synthesia. If your videos end up on YouTube rather than in an LMS, those two are better at the part you care about and this one charges you for the part you do not.
Only on this side
Video from a script, read by an AI presenter
Synthesia turns typed words into a video of a person saying them, in a long list of languages, which is why it lives in training departments rather than on channels. For a creator it earns its place on explainer and localisation work, where reshooting in nine languages is not happening. Nobody is fooled into thinking the presenter is real.
Pick Colossyan if the output has to import into a learning management system. SCORM export and quizzes built into the file are specific to it, and paid tiers include unlimited MP4 downloads rather than a minute meter. Starter is $27 a month after a free plan that needs no card.
Pick Synthesia for everything that is not headed into an LMS. Starter is $19 a month, $14 billed yearly, for 120 minutes of video a year, about ten a month, and Creator at $89, or $59 yearly, adds personal avatars and API access. Synthesia's minute meter is stricter than Colossyan's unlimited downloads on paid tiers.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
