Running the business
Claude is a general assistant with a 200k-token context window on every plan, including the free one, so a long transcript or document goes in whole. Copy.ai is narrower and more structured: chained workflows for repeatable marketing tasks, reaching OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models from one subscription. Claude's Pro plan is $20 a month for one person; Copy.ai's Chat plan is $29 a month but covers 5 seats, so a team of five splits to about $6 each while a solo user pays a premium for four unused seats. Copy.ai has no free plan at all; Claude does.

A writing and reasoning assistant with a long memory
Claude is an assistant built by Anthropic for work that runs long: a full script rather than a paragraph, a spreadsheet of sponsor replies rather than one email. The free plan covers web search, file creation and memory across conversations. Pro adds more usage, unlimited projects, research and the ability to connect Slack and Google Workspace. The context window is 200k tokens on every plan, which in practice means a long transcript or a stack of documents goes in whole rather than in pieces.
Our note
The reason to choose this over the other assistants is usually the context window: work that involves a long document or a full transcript fits without being chopped up first. If your work is short prompts and quick answers, the difference will not show up and the cheaper option wins.
Chat and workflows aimed at go to market copy
Copy.ai moved away from short-form generation toward chained workflows, so the unit of work is a repeatable process rather than a one-off caption. Its chat tier reaches OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models from one subscription with unlimited words. Anybody who only wanted captions will find the tool has grown past them.
Choose Claude for one person doing writing-heavy work with long inputs, a full recording, a stack of documents, drafted and researched in one place. The free plan already includes web search, memory and file creation, and Pro is $20 a month against Copy.ai's $29, which has no free tier to try first.
Choose Copy.ai for a small team that wants one bill covering several model providers and a repeatable content process. Chat is $29 a month for 5 seats with unlimited words, so per person it undercuts Claude's Pro plan once more than one or two people are using it. Its workflow feature turns a weekly content job into the same chained steps every time, which Claude's listing does not describe having.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
