Making the work
Growing an audience
Running the business
Canva's free plan covers most templates and the editor itself, with Pro at $14.99 a month adding the brand kit and background remover for general design work. PosterMyWall is built around a real event: a flyer, a social graphic, a video teaser and the email that reminds people to come, with a free plan and a pay-per-download option from $5.99 that needs no subscription at all. Premium is $13 a month for unlimited downloads, scheduling and email sending together. Its own brief puts the split plainly: Canva is the better daily driver, PosterMyWall is better for events.

Thumbnails, covers and posts without a designer
Canva covers thumbnails, channel art, carousels and short video with templates that look fine and are quick to change. Brand kits keep a team consistent. Anyone with real design skill will outgrow it, and that is fine.
Our note
Nearly everyone should be on the free plan until a brand kit is the thing they keep wanting. Pro earns its money for teams and for anybody publishing daily; for one person making a thumbnail a week it does not.

Posters, flyers and video posts from templates
PosterMyWall makes the printed and posted things around an event: the flyer, the social graphic, the video teaser, the reminder email. It is aimed at somebody promoting something real rather than at a design team, and the free plan exports a watermark-free basic image without a subscription. Scheduling posts and sending the emails are on the same account.
Take Canva as the daily driver, which is exactly what its own brief against PosterMyWall calls it: thumbnails, channel art and posts for a channel that publishes constantly. The free plan covers most templates and the editor itself, and Pro at $14.99 a month adds the brand kit once a team needs to look consistent. It has no event pages or registration tools, which is where PosterMyWall specialises instead.
Take PosterMyWall for a real event: a class, a gig, a market stall, where the flyer, the social post and the reminder email all need to go out from one account. A single high-quality export costs $5.99 with no subscription, or Premium at $13 a month adds unlimited downloads, scheduling and email sending together. Event pages with registrations attached are not something Canva's listing describes at all.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Our note
The pay-per-download option on the free plan is the part worth knowing about, because it makes PosterMyWall the cheapest way to get one good flyer out the door. Canva is the better daily driver; this is better for events.
