Running the business
Cal.com is free forever for one user, with no cap on meetings and Stripe or PayPal payments built in from the start. TidyCal is also free to start, and unusually its free plan already includes paid bookings and unlimited booking types, but the step up is a single $29 payment through AppSumo rather than a monthly bill. That $29 is one time, not a monthly rate to weigh against Cal.com's $12 a user a month Teams plan. TidyCal also keeps 1 percent of every paid booking on top of Stripe's own cut, a fee Cal.com's listing does not mention at all.

Open-source scheduling you can host yourself
Cal.com does what Calendly does and publishes its source, which matters to anybody who wants booking on their own domain and their own database. The individual plan is free with no meeting cap. Self-hosting is real rather than theatre, though it is a weekend rather than an afternoon.
Our note
Taking payment for calls is free here and is a paid feature almost everywhere else. That single difference is the reason most people switch.

Booking pages you pay for once
TidyCal does what Calendly does for a single payment instead of a subscription, which over two years is the difference between $29 and several hundred. Paid bookings, recurring meetings and a free plan with unlimited booking types are all in. Polish is thinner and the integrations list is shorter, which is what you are trading for the price.
Take Cal.com if you want no cap on connected calendars without ever paying, or if a team will eventually need round-robin routing and SSO on the $12 a user a month Teams plan. Payments through Stripe and PayPal are already on the free plan, with no platform fee mentioned on top of what Stripe itself takes. Self-hosting is available too, for anyone who wants booking on their own domain and database.
Take TidyCal if a one-time payment beats a recurring one on principle. The free plan already allows unlimited bookings and paid bookings; the $29 Individual Lifetime licence, paid once through AppSumo, adds meeting links, group bookings and ten calendar connections, against Cal.com's free plan which never caps calendar connections at all. Remember the 1 percent platform fee TidyCal adds to a paid booking's total, on top of Stripe's own processing, when working out which is actually cheaper for a busy calendar.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Our note
For most creators this is the correct purchase and Calendly is the habit. Buy the $29 lifetime licence, spend twenty minutes moving your links, and never think about scheduling costs again.
