Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Storyboards that turn into an animatic
Boords is where a video gets planned before anybody films it: frames in order, notes under each one, and a timed animatic that plays the whole thing back so the pacing problem shows up now rather than in the edit. Clients comment on the board instead of on the finished cut, which is the expensive place to find out. It draws nothing for you beyond AI reference images. A solo creator shooting to a rough outline will not need it.
Our note
Price this against the cost of a reshoot rather than against other software, because that is the expense it exists to prevent. If your videos are planned in your head and come out fine, the honest answer is that you do not need it.

Whiteboard animation, drawn on as you watch
VideoScribe makes the hand-drawn explainer where a marker fills the frame while a voice talks over it. That format is narrow and VideoScribe is the tool that does it properly, with a library of images and the timing controls to match a script. Download limits are per plan, so the cheap tier is five finished videos a month.
Ratings are the average of reviews readers left. The facts are stated by each tool’s own listing and are not verified by CloutStack. How we make money.

Our note
If you want whiteboard animation, this is the tool that does it, and the five-download cap on the cheap plan is the only thing to check against how you work. Doodly and its imitators cover the same ground; VideoScribe has the better asset library.
