Making the work
Growing an audience
Running the business
Viral Loops ships templates for referral mechanics that already worked elsewhere, a waiting list, a milestone giveaway, a refer-a-friend, priced by participant count from $35 a month. ViralSweep runs sweepstakes and contests instead, with the legal side handled, official rules, entry records, bonding above a prize threshold, from $49 a month for unlimited promotions and entries. Viral Loops is cheaper and mechanics-focused. ViralSweep costs more because a real prize needs the compliance work behind it.

Referral programs from templates, per campaign
Viral Loops ships templates for the referral mechanics that already worked for somebody else, a waiting list, a milestone giveaway, a straight refer-a-friend, and lets you run one without building it. Participants import and export as a list, so it plugs into whatever you already send email with. Pricing rises with the number of participants rather than with features.
Our note
The ten-participant cap on the trial is the thing to plan around: it proves the mechanics work and tells you nothing about scale. Against UpViral this is cheaper at the entry tier and gives away less of the API.
Sweepstakes and contests that stay compliant
ViralSweep runs the giveaway and, more to the point, runs the legal side of it: official rules, entry records, winner selection and the bonding a US sweepstakes needs above a prize threshold. Gleam is cheaper and lighter. This is the one to use when the prize is big enough that getting it wrong matters.
Our note
Choose Viral Loops if the goal is a referral loop or a waiting list built on a mechanic that already works elsewhere: $35 a month is the entry tier, with import and export on every plan and the API arriving on the second. The 14-day trial gives unlimited use of the Growing plan but caps at ten participants, enough to prove the flow works and nothing about real scale.
Choose ViralSweep if the giveaway has a prize valuable enough that the legal side is a real risk: Starter is $49 a month for unlimited promotions and entries, and official rules plus bonding on the Elite tier are what the price is really buying. A small giveaway to a small audience does not need this machinery and should look at a lighter tool instead.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Gleam does the mechanics for less. The reason to pay four times as much here is the rules, the records and the bonding, which only matter above a prize value most creators never reach.
