Running the business
StreamYard runs a live show from a browser with no hardware needed, free with a logo, then $44.99 a month, or $35.99 billed yearly, for three multistream destinations. Switcher Studio turns iPhones and iPads you already own into a real multi-camera production, one plan at $65 a month billed annually, or $99 monthly, with no free tier. StreamYard is software for a single-camera interview show anyone can join from a link. Switcher Studio is a genuine multi-camera setup built from devices most churches, classrooms and small venues already have lying around.

Go live to several places from a browser tab
StreamYard runs a live show from a browser with no software to install, which is why it is the default for interview streams and for guests who will not download anything. Multistreaming to several destinations is the feature people pay for. Anybody who wants scenes, plugins and local capture is describing OBS instead.

Multi-camera streaming from iPhones you own
Switcher Studio turns a handful of iPhones and iPads into a multi-camera setup, with one device as the switcher and the rest as wireless cameras. That is a real production for the price of devices most people already have, which is why it turned up in churches and classrooms before it turned up in studios. It is Apple only, so an Android phone cannot be one of the cameras.
Our note
The cost of this is really the cost of the phones, and most people who want it already own them. If you have a spare iPhone and an iPad, it is the cheapest genuine multi-camera setup in this list; if you would need to buy hardware, price OBS Studio and a capture card first.
Choose StreamYard if the format is an interview or panel and guests need to join without installing anything or owning special hardware: free covers a logo and two hours of local recording, and Core at $44.99 a month, or $35.99 yearly, is still cheaper than Switcher Studio's only plan. A gaming streamer wanting scene switching and local capture is describing OBS instead, not either of these.
Choose Switcher Studio if a real multi-camera production is the goal and two or three Apple devices are already sitting in a drawer: one plan at $65 a month billed annually turns them into wireless camera feeds switched from an iPad, no capture card or cables needed. The real cost here is the devices, which most buyers already own; anybody who would need to purchase iPhones and iPads from scratch should price OBS Studio and a capture card first.
