Running the business
Slipstream licenses over a million tracks for $10 a month, but only if paid annually with no free tier or short trial for the Creator plan. Uppbeat gives away three downloads a month for free, a quarter of its catalogue, with one safelisted channel, then its entry tier at $6.99 a month billed normally, cheaper than Slipstream and requiring no annual commitment. Slipstream's catalogue is the far larger one. Uppbeat is the cheaper, more flexible entry point with a real free tier behind it.

Music licensing with a $10 creator plan
Slipstream licenses a catalogue of over a million tracks for social video, with clearance that covers YouTube, TikTok, Meta and podcasts. The creator plan is priced where an independent channel can actually pay it, and caps channels rather than uploads. Team plans jump to a different order of money, so the middle of the market is thin here.
Music for video with a free tier that clears claims
Uppbeat licenses music for YouTube and social video, and its free plan is three downloads a month rather than a trial that runs out. Channels are safelisted so a claim does not arrive a week after publishing. The catalogue is smaller than Epidemic Sound's, which is the trade being made for a bill under ten dollars.
Our note
The cheap alternative to Epidemic Sound, and the catalogue is where you pay for it. If a track has to be one nobody else is using, this is the wrong library; if it has to fit and clear, it is most of the value at a third of the price.
Choose Slipstream if catalogue size and channel coverage across YouTube, TikTok, Meta and podcasts matter more than flexible billing: $10 a month, paid annually, covers three channels per platform for one creator. There is no free tier to test it on first, and the jump to Teams at $200 a month is steep with nothing in between.
Choose Uppbeat if a real free plan and monthly billing matter: three downloads a month renew for free rather than running out like a trial, and the entry tier at $6.99 a month, cheaper than Slipstream, safelists one channel so a claim does not arrive after publishing. Pro at $14.99 adds an extended licence for client work and ads and ten safelisted channels, still cheaper than Slipstream's Teams tier for anybody who does not need its full indemnification.
