Making the work
Growing an audience
Running the business
Restream takes one video feed and multistreams it to up to eight platforms with every chat pulled into one window, free for 2 channels and $19 a month for 3 with the branding removed. Streamlabs wraps OBS in alerts, overlays and a tip page, and its own multistreaming lives inside Ultra, also $19 a month, bundled with themes and its other apps. Restream is a distribution layer built around reaching more platforms. Streamlabs is a full broadcasting setup built around looking finished on day one.

Stream to eight platforms from one encoder
Restream takes one video feed and pushes it to YouTube, Twitch, TikTok and the rest at once, then pulls every chat back into one window so a host can read them all. The free tier does two destinations, which is enough to test whether multistreaming suits your show. Recording storage clears after fifteen days on the cheaper plans.

Streaming with alerts, overlays and tipping
Streamlabs wraps OBS in something friendlier and adds alerts, overlays and a donation page. Setup takes minutes rather than an evening. It is heavier on system resources than plain OBS.
Our note
Start free and stay there until a specific Ultra feature is blocking you. The resource cost against plain OBS is real, and on a mid-range machine it is the difference between a smooth stream and a stuttering one.
Choose Restream if multistreaming itself, more platforms, unified chat, cloud recording, is the actual feature being bought: the free plan already covers 2 channels, and $19 a month adds a third with the Restream branding gone. Business at $239 a month reaches 8 channels for anybody running this as an operation rather than a hobby.
Choose Streamlabs if the channel needs alerts, overlays and a tip page working on the first broadcast, since the free version already covers most of that. Ultra is $19 a month, the same price as Restream's Standard tier, and bundles multistreaming with themes and the rest of the Streamlabs apps. It costs more in system resources than plain OBS, so a struggling machine should stay on OBS itself rather than pay for either of these.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
