Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Style and grammar checks for long drafts
ProWritingAid reports on a whole manuscript rather than a sentence, with checks for pacing, repeated phrasing, sticky sentences and dialogue tags that Grammarly does not attempt. The reports take a while to read and are worth it once. Free accounts are limited to 500 words at a time, which rules out the long-document work the tool is best at.

Draft a manuscript with AI on the first pass
Squibler writes long-form drafts, holding characters, plot and structure steady across a whole manuscript rather than losing the thread every few thousand words. Credits meter how much gets generated and the free tier gives enough to see whether the output is worth editing. Projects export to PDF and DOCX for whatever comes next. Anybody who wants a quiet place to write their own words will find the AI here is the product rather than an accessory.
Our note
Spend the free thousand credits on the opening of something you actually intend to write, because whether the voice is usable is the only question and it is answered in a chapter. Anybody generating more than one book will find the unlimited tier cheaper than watching a credit balance, which is the trade Pro is really offering.
Ratings are the average of reviews readers left. The facts are stated by each tool’s own listing and are not verified by CloutStack. How we make money.
