Making the work
Growing an audience
Running the business
NightCafe puts a long list of image models behind one prompt box with free daily credits, badges and a public feed, from $12.50 a month for 200 Fast Credits once the daily allowance is not enough. OpenArt trains a character or a style once and brings it back looking the same in the next image, which is what a comic or a storyboard actually needs, free to sign up and then $14 a month for Starter, though commercial rights do not arrive until the $34 Plus tier. NightCafe suits trying many models to find a look; OpenArt suits repeating one look on purpose. The two run on different credit systems entirely, so comparing the numbers directly does not tell you much.

Many image models, and a community around them
NightCafe puts a long list of image models behind one prompt box and adds daily challenges, badges and a public feed to the outside of it. The free credits refresh every day and most of what a casual user wants is covered by them. Paying buys Fast Credits, which are the ones that do not queue.
Our note
Come here to try a lot of models cheaply, and go to Leonardo when you have settled on a look and need it repeated. The community side is genuine rather than decorative, which is unusual, and it is the reason people describe NightCafe as fun.
Consistent characters across images and video
OpenArt is built around the thing that makes most image generators useless for a series: the same character has to come back looking the same in the next shot. It holds a character or a style across generations, and its story mode lays the results out in sequence. Behind that sit a hundred image, video and audio models on one credit balance.
Our note
Pick NightCafe for exploring a lot of models cheaply and casually, with genuine free daily credits and a community feed that people describe as actually fun rather than decorative. AI Hobbyist is $12.50 a month for 200 Fast Credits once you outgrow the daily free allowance, and Stable Diffusion generations do not spend credits at all.
Pick OpenArt once a specific character or style has to reappear across many images: a comic, a storyboard, thumbnails needing the same face throughout. Starter is $14 a month, or $13 billed annually, but check the commercial-use line before comparing that to NightCafe's price: OpenArt only grants those rights from the $34 Plus tier. Generating one-off images with no need for consistency is cheaper done elsewhere, by OpenArt's own account.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Commercial rights starting at Plus rather than Starter is the catch here, and it is the difference between a $14 plan and a $34 one for anybody selling what they make. Check that line before comparing the entry price against getimg.ai, which grants those rights at the bottom of its range.
