Charge for access to a Discord or Slack group
LaunchPass puts a paywall in front of a chat community you already run, and hands out and removes the roles as people pay and lapse. It connects to Discord, Slack and Telegram, and the money arrives through your own Stripe account. It manages access rather than hosting anything, so the community stays where your members already are.
Our note
Sensible if your community is already somewhere and already wanted. Compare it against DoorFee if the community is on Discord, since DoorFee sells the membership as well as gating it, and against Circle or Skool if you were half thinking of moving anyway.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Every day, hundreds of new apps and tools hit the web. But finding ones that actually work without crashing or wasting your afternoon has gotten hard. Most software directories just use bots to approve every submission that comes in, leaving you to sift through broken links, half-finished prototypes, and spammy marketing sites. We built ToolVerified to fix that. Instead of letting scripts scrape the web, an actual person on our team opens every submitted tool, tests the main features, and checks that it does what it says on the box. If a tool is broken or doesn't do anything useful, we turn it down. We group tested tools into clear buckets like AI, developer utilities, team productivity, and finance so you can find what you need in a few clicks. From there, community members try the tools and vote on what they like. The tools with the most votes move up our daily and weekly leaderboards. ToolVerified gives independent makers a fair shot at getting noticed, while giving developers and teams a reliable list of tools they can test without wasting their time.
