Running the business
DoorFee gates a Discord server specifically, granting and revoking roles automatically and building the sales pages, email and abandoned-checkout recovery around that one platform. Ko-fi is not Discord-specific: it takes nothing from a plain tip and 5 percent from memberships, commissions and the shop, dropping to 0 percent everywhere on the $12 a month Gold plan. DoorFee's own free tier already charges more, at 10 percent, than Ko-fi ever does on any plan.

Paid Discord memberships with a sales funnel
DoorFee sells access to a Discord server and gives you the pages and email that sell it, which is the half most access tools leave to you. Payments run through Stripe and roles are granted and revoked automatically. The page builder, affiliate program and coupon codes are what separate it from a bare paywall bot.

Tips, memberships and a shop with no platform cut
Ko-fi takes nothing from tips on the free plan, which no other platform of its size does. Memberships, commissions and digital downloads all work from the same page. It is lighter than Patreon in every direction, which is often the point.
Our note
The best free option for somebody who mostly gets tipped, and worth weighing against Patreon the moment memberships become the larger half of the income. Do the Gold arithmetic yourself rather than taking the upgrade prompt's word for it.
Pick DoorFee if the product is specifically a paid Discord server and the selling matters as much as the gate. Free takes 10 percent, and Pro at $28 a month drops that to 2.5 percent plus custom domains and white-label branding, worth it above roughly $375 a month in membership revenue by DoorFee's own math. Ko-fi has no automatic Discord role feature to compare it against.
Pick Ko-fi for support that is not tied to gating a Discord server: tips arrive whole for free, and memberships, commissions and shop sales cost 5 percent until Gold's $12 a month removes it entirely, cheaper than DoorFee reaches at any tier. It also covers Twitch and YouTube directly, where DoorFee only ever serves Discord.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
