Running the business
Constant Contact is built for a local business that wants a phone line to call and an event tool bundled in, from $12 a month. GetResponse is built for a creator selling a course: email, funnels and paid webinars on one bill, from $19 a month, or $15.58 if you pay yearly. Constant Contact's own listing says a creator is rarely its right pick against tools built for the job. GetResponse is one of those tools.

Email marketing aimed at small businesses
Constant Contact is the one a local business gets recommended by its accountant, and that shapes the product: templates, an event tool, social posting, and support you can telephone. A creator running a list will find it plainer than the platforms built for newsletters. What it does well is stay out of the way of somebody who does not want to learn marketing software.
Our note
The list price rises after the introductory period, so quote yourself the second-year number before comparing. For a creator this is rarely the right pick against MailerLite or Brevo; for a business that will phone somebody when a send fails, it earns its keep.

Email, automation and webinars on one bill
GetResponse has been sending email since before most of its competitors existed, and it kept adding: landing pages, funnels, paid webinars, an ecommerce push. For a creator selling a course that breadth removes two other subscriptions. It also means the interface carries twenty years of features, and the newer tools feel lighter to use.
Pick Constant Contact only if you want a phone line for support and an events tool bundled with your list, and you do not mind that the $12 introductory rate rises after the first period. It is built for a local business, not a creator selling something online.
Pick GetResponse if you are selling a course or coaching and want the funnel, the sequence and a paid webinar on one subscription. Starter is $19 a month, $15.58 billed yearly, and every tier includes unlimited sends regardless of how often you write. The webinar tool alone is worth more than the price gap if you run live sessions.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Our note
The webinar tool is the reason to pick this over Kit or MailerLite, and it is worth real money if you run live sessions. If you do not, you are paying for twenty years of features to send email that those two send more pleasantly.
