Running the business
Clipchamp is a free, general browser editor with recording built in, its 4K export and stock library bundled into a Microsoft 365 subscription rather than charged separately. Typito is narrower and aimed at marketers: text overlays, lower thirds and captions that match a brand, free for thirty minutes of export a month before $15 a month billed annually at Solo. Clipchamp edits the whole video; Typito is specifically the typography layer laid on top of footage you already have.

Microsoft's browser video editor
Clipchamp is Microsoft's video editor, free to anybody with a personal Microsoft account and folded into Microsoft 365 for the premium half. Recording the screen, camera and voice is on the free level, along with the AI editing and audio tools. What you pay for is 4K export, the stock library and a brand kit. No download is involved.
Our note
Check your Microsoft 365 subscription before paying for a video editor, because the premium tier may already be included in it. As a free editor on its own it sits comfortably beside CapCut and needs no install.

Text and graphics laid over video
Typito is for putting text and graphics on top of video: lower thirds, captions, titles that match a brand rather than a preset. It is a browser tool aimed at marketers instead of editors, so the templates carry most of the design decisions. Export duration is what the plans meter, and the free one gives you thirty minutes a month.
Buy into Clipchamp if you need a general editor with recording, trimming and AI tools together, at no separate cost, especially with a Microsoft 365 subscription already covering the premium tier. It does not specialise in branded text overlays the way Typito does.
Buy Typito if the job is putting on-brand text, lower thirds and captions over footage you already have, and you are a marketer rather than an editor. The free plan's thirty minutes of export a month goes quickly, and $15 a month billed annually removes the watermark and raises it to sixty. Anybody wanting keyframes or easing controls will find it too shallow.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Our note
The export minute allowance matters more than the price on this one, and the free tier's thirty minutes goes quickly. Kapwing costs about the same and does more, so pick Typito when the typography is the job.
