Making the work
Growing an audience
Running the business
Buffer is a plain per-channel scheduler, free for three channels and $5 each after that, built for one person or a small team. SocialPilot is shaped for an agency: bulk upload from a spreadsheet, each client's account kept separate, white-label reports that go out under your own name, starting at $20 a month with no free plan. SocialPilot's own listing says who should skip it: post for a single brand and you are paying for machinery you will never open.

Schedule posts across every account at once
Buffer queues posts for most networks, suggests times and reports on what landed. The free plan covers three channels, which is enough for a lot of people. It stays out of the way, which is the main thing a scheduler can do.
Our note
Buy it for the calm rather than the features. Per-channel pricing punishes anyone posting everywhere, so count your channels before comparing the headline price with a competitor's flat fee.
Only on this side
Bulk scheduling across many client accounts
SocialPilot is built around the case where one person posts for ten brands rather than for one. Bulk upload takes a spreadsheet of hundreds of posts at once, client management keeps each account's approvals apart, and the reports go out under an agency's own name rather than the tool's. A solo creator will find that more machinery than the job needs. Anybody who has started posting on behalf of other people is the reader it was priced for, and extra accounts are billed separately from extra seats.
Pick SocialPilot if the job is posting for several clients at once, since bulk upload from a CSV and keeping each client's approvals apart are built for exactly that. It starts at $20 a month, with extra accounts at $4 a month and extra users at $5, billed as add-ons rather than a plan change.
Pick Buffer if there is one brand, or a small handful of channels, and the client-management machinery would go unused. Three channels are free and Buffer stays out of the way, which is what a solo creator or small team actually needs from a scheduler.
Ratings are the average of reviews readers left. The facts are stated by each tool’s own listing and are not verified by CloutStack. How we make money.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Our note
Pick this one for the bulk upload and the client separation, not for the composer. If you post for a single brand you are paying for machinery you will never open.
